ABSTRACT
Objective: to evaluate the function of the Plenum Guide membrane in the preservation of bone tissue in the dental sockets after the extraction procedure. Material and methods: for this, a group of 15 volunteers who needed extraction of posterior teeth, premolars or molars, were analyzed and separated into a group that did not receive any material (GAP); a group that received the Plenum Guide membrane exposed in the intraoral region (GAME); and a last group that received the Plenum Guide membrane covered by oral cavity mucosa (GAMC). Results: the GAMC showed greater formation of bone tissue, followed by the GAME group and fi nally the GAP group. Conclusion: that the PDO membrane was effective for guided bone regeneration, whether it was exposed or not.
Key words – Oral surgery; Guided tissue regeneration; Dental implantation.
