ABSTRACT
Maxillary defects associated to oroantral and oronasal communications generally affect the patients in function and esthetic leading to emotional imbalance. The reconstructive surgery is an option, but sometimes presents unsatisfactory results. The rehabilitation using obturator prostheses in edentulous patients often contributes to inadequate stability. The literature demonstrated that intra-oral endosseous implants help in retaining the obturator prosthesis with satisfactory results. The present article reports on 2 clinical cases in which patients were rehabilitated with obturator prostheses over conventional and zygomatic implants.
