ABSTRACT

Objective: this study aimed to review the literature searching information about the use of conventional preheated composite resins as a luting material to ceramic restorations. Materials and methods: a search were performed in the databases: PubMed, Google Scholar, Lilacs and Scielo, using the keywords: “pre-heating”, “composite resin” and “ceramic restoration”. After that, 13 articles were selected based on the reading of titles and abstracts. Results and conclusion: aft er the full-text reading and analysis, it was possible to observe that conventional composite resins, when preheated, present excellent optical and mechanical properties, being a feasible option to laminate veneer luting.

Key words – Ceramics; Composite resin; Luting; Pre-heating; Laminate venners.
